Teroldego +
Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy

Lezèr ("light" in local dialect) was born of the challenging 2017 vintage, when Elisabetta Foradori's Teroldego crop was hit by a summer hailstorm. She turned the remains into this short-maceration red wine, named for its light color and body. This first Foradori vin de soif was a success, and the family has continued making the wine every vintage since. The fruit comes from 8ha of vines scattered about in their village and beyond, on the sandy, gravelly alluvial soils so typical of the Dolomitic terroir.

light-bodied, cranberry, ripe strawberry, sweet clove, unpretentiously tasty
