Valentin Montanet is known for his terroir-driven, affable Burgundies but with this cuvée he ventures into property he owns in northern appellation in Beaujolais, Juliénas. From 80-year-old vines on granite and sandy soils, this wine is whole cluster fermented in concrete and then rests neutral barrels for 8-10 months.
