Perched high up on a clay slope, Iñaki and Rosa Maria Etxeberria’s ancient farmhouse (featured on the label) has been passed down for generations. The locals have long affectionately nicknamed it, Bengoetxe, which means ‘come home’ in Basque. Bengoetxe’s vineyards possess a slightly warmer microclimate and heavier soils than the coastal producers around Getaria, lending their wines more weight, texture and savory character.
