The Akutain Cosecha is Tempranillo from Jon Peñagaricano's youngest vineyard, Fonzabala. Planted in 1990, the vineyard faces north-east, at 570 meters elevation, on clay-calcareous soils. The grapes were destemmed and macerated on their skins for 2 days before fermenting in fiberglass and steel tanks with native yeasts.
